7 students obtain first class degrees in BSU

Seven out of 12,388 graduating students of Benue State University obtained first class degrees in their respective courses of studies.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Moses Kembe, disclosed this at the 16th and 17th combined convocation ceremony of the university. 

Kembe said that out of the total number 10, 248 were conferred with degrees, 469 obtained post graduate diplomas, 1, 522 earned Master’s and 149 conferred with PhD degrees.

The vice chancellor said  those conferred with honorary degrees included the late Catholic Bishop Emeritus, Dr Athanasis Atule Usuh; Alhaji Abubakar Ibn Umar Garba El-Kanemi and the Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefile.

Wife of the Benue State Governor, Mrs. Eunice Ortom, earned a Doctor of Philosophy in political science while a retired federal permanent secretary in the Ministry of Defence, Chief Mike Okibe Onoja, bagged a honourary Doctorate Degree of Letters.
